Australia New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC)

Heyo guys,

Welcome back everybody! It's been a very long holiday, especially for me since I started my holiday one week before school ended! For the people who have no idea where I've been, well my family and I went up to AUCKLAND! Yay! I had an amazing time at Auckland, especially at Rainbow's End. Surprisingly, I managed to go on all the rides! Now I'm quite ashamed that I chickened out on high ropes at camp. I mean, come on. I was able to go on HUGE, SCARY roller-coasters but not high ropes. Good one Shazza.

Well anyway, let's get on with the main topic. So as you all know, today I'll be talking about ANZAC day. In class, we did a little research stuff on ANZAC day, WW1 and Gallipoli and guess what? I learned heaps! Okay, to tell you the truth, I had no idea what ANZAC day was. Sure I knew that it was something to do with war but I knew nothing else apart from that. Now, thanks to all the research and reading we've done, I've learned tones more than I did before.

Here are the things I learned about ANZAC day, WW1 and Gallipoli:

1. ANZAC stands for: Australia New Zealand Army Corps.
2. ANZAC day is on the 25th of April. 
3. WW1: July 1914-November 1918.
4. Many people died at Gallipoli.

Of course, I learned much more than this but yeah. These are just the main points. SOME of the main points to be exact. I didn't attend any of the ANZAC day events which was very sad. Did you go to one of the events? If yes, tell me something about it! I would soooooo love to know.

I definitely think it's a good idea to commemorate these types of events. In fact, I think it's very important to commemorate these special days because so many New Zealand soldiers died because of war and we should be grateful and thankful because of them.

Now that we've covered the main topics, we can go onto some random stuff. By the way, I'll probably be saying some random stuff at the end of every blog posts so if you're interested then keep reading. If you don't really care then......you can stop reading. I don't know.
