Teamwork makes the Dreamwork!
Heyo!
I'm back once again and this time I'll be talking about group work skills! Okay so lately we've been working in groups for various topics. For example, the ICC Cricket World Cup country project and the Maori art project, which we are currently working on.
What went well in our groups?
Country Project: For this group project, I've been working with Katerina. This project went pretty well. Like I said in my previous post, Katerina and I Have been researching on Scotland. Even though the project was due two weeks after the teachers set it, Katerina and I managed to finished both the poster and the powerpoint in a week or so. This, for me, was a pretty big achievement.
Art Project: Calvin, Katherine, Caitlin and I are currently working on the art project. We all managed to decide on one picture that everyone likes so that was a good thing.
What didn't go so well?
Country Project: Well one thing that didn't go so well was that Katerina sort of did most of the work on the poster and power point leaving me to do only like a quarter of the work to do. Like I only got to do the quiz on the power point and some of the colouring for the poster so I didn't really get to do much. Katerina said it was alright.....omigosh Katerina I'm sorry if it wasn't alright.
Art Project: I think the same goes for this project as well. I didn't get to do much of the drawing on the art thing mainly because this time Calvin actually wanted to do it by himself. I think. I do recall him saying that he wanted the art to be perfect so I just let him do it. The colouring bit is always available. I guess Caitlin, Katherine and I can do that. So it's all good....
How was the quality of your work affected by your group working skills?
Working in a team has actually gone really well! I realized working in a group will get things done much quicker. Usually, I prefer working independently but now I don't mind working in a group.
What can I do to improve future group assignments?
Well I guess the main thing that we should do is that we should organize who is doing what part so everyone can have an equal amount of work to finish. This way, one person doesn't have to do all the work.
Okay, now that I've finished the main bit, it's question time!
Question: Are you excited for camp/EOTC week?
It's a pretty easy question but yeah. I'm really, really excited for camp! But I have to admit that I am sort of scared about the high ropes and flying fox. I'm not too worried about them but wait until we get to the camp site and then I'll really be freaking out!
I hope everyone will have fun at camp and the Yr 7's will enjoy EOTC week. Also, I would like to say a special thank you to our teachers, Miss Bolger, Mr Cunningham and Mr Mcgurk for planning and organizing camp and EOTC week for us. It's a wonder how you guys plan all this cool stuff when there is like, I don't know, over 50 people in our syndicate. Thanks for being amazing and the best teachers ever!!!

Amazing post Sharon! Your quiz was so much fun. I can not wait for camp!! I am kind of afraid of heights!! I can not wait to find out what group I am in. ☻☺
ReplyDeleteOmigosh ME TOO!
Deletewait... why did you name it marauder? i still don't get it.
DeleteI'm excited for camp but the only bit i'm worrying about is heights and small spaces.
ReplyDeleteHehe. Sorry for kinda doing all the work stuff . . . I feel really bad now. Love your new blog setting, It's AMAZING!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon - there are actually 68 students in the syndicate this year! You guys will all be fine with the camp challenges like high ropes. My advice - don't think about it, just do it. It's all really safe so nothing bad can happen. And try to have a turn early so you're not waiting around getting nervous!
