SPACE! Not Agents of Space. The Space with the planets, stars and comets!

What do you know about Space? Ever wondered about the planets in our solar system? Ever tried to count the stars in the night sky? Well I have. I counted 42 and then I got a little bored after that. Yeah. Anyway, you would probably know that this term Room 11 and 12 are learning about Space.

When we first started, I thought we were going to have a test on all the planets or something but UNFORTUNATELY we didn't. I like tests. No, just joking. Well I suppose they are okay but it really depends on what subject it's on. Well forget that. Back to the main topic (You might have realized that I get easily distracted. Sometimes. Most of the time. Maybe not always).

Well one thing I found interesting about Space is....umm actually I've found everything really interesting. But I like the constellation research project we're doing. I just love doing research projects. Especially when you can choose what you want to do and in this case it's choosing a constellation. The moment I heard that we were doing a this project, the first constellation that came to my mind was....Canis Major. Why? Well...I suppose it is my favourite constellation.

Did you know that the Canis Major contains the brightest star in the night sky? Sirius. Sirius can be seen from any part of Earth and is really easy to spot too. I bet you can see Sirius in this picture.

There are a few questions that I'm wanting to find the answer to about Canis Major.
  1. What is the name of the second brightest star in Canis Major?
  2. What is the myth behind Sirius? (I desperately want to know! You probably guessed why)
  3. Which constellation is the closest to Canis Major?
Well that's the end of this blog post. I really can't wait to know what we're learning next about Space!

Bye Bye.
